The Call to Lead
Maybe the timing isn’t right. Maybe I’ve got too much on my plate. Maybe someone else is more qualified than I am.
These are all the thoughts that went through my head before I said “yes” to the opportunity to serve on the ICF Iowa Chapter Board of Directors.
And maybe those things were true. But the reality is that timing isn’t perfect. There will always be more to do and people who do it better.
I have loved my experience serving on the Board. It is meaningful work, done with people I deeply respect, in service of something bigger than any one of us.
We serve an incredible community whose impact extends well beyond our state's borders. Together, we are a force for good in a world that desperately needs it.
This month, we are announcing the open Board of Directors positions for 2027. This is your call to lead, like the many dedicated volunteer leaders who came before you and whose shoulders we now stand on.
I encourage you to connect with our Past-President,
Erin Lego, by July 15th to explore this opportunity. Our current Board members are happy to meet and discuss the roles, answer questions, and provide you with a clear picture of what to expect. Here are the open positions:
- Secretary (2-year term)
- Marketing Director (2-yr term)
- Education Director (2-yr term)
- At-Large Director (2-yr term)
- Vice President (3-yr commitment)
- This role serves one year as Vice President, followed by one year as President and one year as Past-President.
