Real Talk

One recurring theme throughout my time on the ICF Iowa board has been the desire to foster a stronger sense of community and connection among our coaches statewide. As coaches, we understand the value of community and excel at supporting others, yet we often struggle to create that same space for ourselves.

When the board met last fall for our bi-annual planning retreat, this topic came up again. We tossed around different ideas, and then a new one surfaced. We noodled on it. And everyone loved it. It became the "Real Talk" Series we are offering once a month.

Introducing "Real Talk" Series

We are excited to announce our new monthly event, Real Talk! In this series we will discuss the real issues we all face as coaches, entrepreneurs, and humans striving to make a difference. We will share our experience and opinions, not answers. These sessions will not be recorded, as we want to encourage candid conversation and a safe space for all.

Coaches and Coffee - A Monthly Connect for Internal Coaches

  • Schedule Change! Thanks to feedback, we are changing the meeting day for this group. If you serve as a coach internal to an organization, we hope to see you! In 2025 we will meet on the last Thursday of each month, from 8AM to 9AM Central. We alternate virtual and in-person meetings.

Coaches & Coffee was started as a group for coaches internal to organizations. This coffee connection is expanding to welcome internal coaches throughout Iowa. We will continue to meet monthly, alternating in-person and virtual meeting modes. We look forward to meeting more of you!

Member Credential Congratulations

We recently realized we didn't recognize several of our ICF Iowa members who attained their ICF Coaching accreditations in 2023, and we want to correct that. New ACC Exam

 A new ACC Exam was released on November 18, 2024; 90-minute exam consisting of 60 multiple-choice knowledge items delivered in two sections with an optional 10-minute break midway through the exam.

ICF offers Communities of Practice groups in topics like Career Coaching, Health and Wellness Coaching, Internal Coaching, and many more!  Check out the course catalog to see what’s offered. FAQs for the CoPs, including how to find and access the live webinars, can be found here.

Note: You must be an ICF Global member to access the Community groups. For information on applying to join ICF, go to their website and click on the “Join ICF” button on the top right of the page. As a bonus, if you are an ICF Global member your dues for the ICF Iowa Chapter are discounted to $50 annually!
